The City of Asbury, Iowa (population 5,944), is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual to join our Police Department as a full-time Police Officer.

Position Overview

The Police Officer performs law enforcement duties to maintain public peace and safety, enforce applicable laws and ordinances, protect life and property, and provide professional service to the community.

Responsibilities include responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, preparing reports, enforcing traffic laws, assisting residents, and performing other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Possess Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certification or be able to obtain certification within one year of employment
• Meet the City's employment and background requirements

Law enforcement experience is preferred. Applicants should confirm eligibility and certification requirements with the City.

Pre-Employment Requirements

The selected candidate must successfully complete the required physical examination, drug screening, and background investigation.
